(A note that it is still night-time)

Selene turned to look at the sea and noticed the dark waves underneath the full moon were thrashing about like an angry animal. The change was amazing, from the peaceful, calm waters to the death waves in not that long at all. She heard a particularly massive wave come to shore and saw a dark body that stood out from the sand. The white wolf hadn't even heard the wolf Dark as she was so intrigued by what was happening on the shore. Racing towards the fallen animal, she looked down at some sort of domestic canine dog-like creature. She felt something pull at the back of her mind, like she was trying to remember something. But nothing. Looking down at its dark black fur, the white she-wolf figured that the best bet would be to stay beside him until he awoke as to not startle. She would make sure he didn't float away. Laying down beside him she looked to the surf and noticed another wolf struggling to shore. She approached the beach quickly and, even though it appeared she didn't know how to swim, easily jumped from the fierce waters with a bizarre grin on her face. Immediately wary, Selene looked away from the female wolf and looked back down at the male dog who sat, unconscious, breathing steadily

Slowly, the black dog came to. With a small groan, his jaw moved ever so slightly. Then he licked his chops a few times, expelling some water as he did so. Finally, his eyes opened in one smooth motion.

His stare was as blank as the dead. The canid's beady black eyes glittered eerily in the moonlight. Then, slowly, life retuned to their depths.

Hardy took in the scene before him. It was night, that was for certain. The sky was a rich, midnight blue, full of many stars. He appeared to be on a shoreline of sorts; he could hear the crash of tides. But he couldn't be sure, for there was a large object obstructing the horizon.

It took Hardy a second to realize this object had the fur of an animal. A big female animal, at that. A quick scent told him it was another canid, but not a dog. It was far bigger than most dogs, anyway.

A prickle of fear shot through Hardy. The fur along his back began to rise slightly, despite the wetness of his coat. This strange creature was in very close proximity to him, and he was quite vulnerable lying on his side. Blinking quickly, he slowly lifted his head off the sand to look cautiously up at his watcher. His neck was tight, ready to react to the slightest hint of a threat.

Dark grunted in annoyance as the wolf limped off. She felt like she was constantly being ignored over and over again here, but it seemed these wolves were persistent to keep her with them. Limping after the female who had so rudely sprinted off Dark saw a sleek black body laying the sand, it was wet and made Dark's blue eyes widen, if it had arrived the same why her and the sandy brute did then it left quite a mystery at what might be causing so much canines to end up here.

As the crippled female approached she could make out the small figure of a dog. It's fur was stuck to it's sides making it look even thinner and it was looking at the snowy female with what could be fear. As Dark approached she glared hard at the female who had ignored her. Dark wanted to make it more than obvious she disliked this island and the creatures who had adopted it. She just wanted to be on her own again. Away from all this stupid sand.

Selene looked down at the canine as he opened his eyes, life slowing returning to their depths. She noticed his fearful stare to her person and opened her mouth to say, "You are... okay. I'm not going to hurt you." Hearing the sound of another canine, she turned to see Dark limping towards her, with an annoyed glare in her general direction.The she-wolf didn't know what to say to the angry she-wolf, and so she turned her striking golden glance back down towards the dog.

Avalon crawled out of the water once again and looked up at the luminous moon. She shook her fur, not liking the feel of wet and soggy seeping into her skin. She spied other canines having a conversation not too far away. At that, she saw another canid standing right next to her. "Hello," she muttered, her voice still hushed from choking in the water, "I am called Avalon. Who are you?"

For the first time in his young life, Hardy laid eyes upon a wolf. He met her gaze with a sense of wonder, despite all the uncertainity that surrounded him. Her words fell over him like cool water.

"You are... okay. I'm not going to hurt you."

Somehow, all the apprehensions he had beforehand about the strange, white female melted away. He believed the wolf. He really did. There was something in the golden depths of her eyes that made him want to trust her. To get to know her.

To get on her good side.

Hardy adjusted himself so that he lay on his belly. He only noticed how sore he was when he shifted himself upright. He swallowed his groan, not wishing to reveal any more weakness. He also noticed out of the corner of his eye that the female was practically double his size. What on earth was happening to him?

He followed the she-wolf's gaze for a moment. There, just a few feet away was another wolf! Hardy's eye widened. This dark one didn't look to friendly. He wondered how and if the white wolf knew it. Right now, she seemed to be ignoring it. Yet Hardy kept his eyes locked unto the second character. His next thought bubbled up and out of his throat. "Where am I?"

Dark felt the canine starring at her, "staring is not polite." She said in a some what calm yet sarcastic voice. As she looked at the male she noticed surprise sparkling in his eyes and a little bit of wonder. "If I knew that. Well I wouldn't be staying with snowy here and her followers." Dark glanced at the she wolf who had never told Dark her name, she was some what annoyed but the slight conversation with the small black dog made her ease down some, talking always distracted the coal female from any emotion.
