[Briggs]

The sudden feeling, or rather, absence of feeling, brought Briggs back to reality. The rain had stopped, as if to further clarify the beauty of the valley they had just entered. The males gait slowed to a walk, and then his rubbery legs, pushed past their limit, gave way, sending his soaked body to the ground. He kept his head high at first so as not to land on Ginger, then opened his jaws, releasing her from is grip so that his mouth was free to suck down oxygen in heaving pants. He looked at the pup for a long moment before muttering in between breaths. "you..alright?"

[Ginger]

Ginger landed with a light thud as Briggs released her. She let out a sigh of relief and smiled at the panting male wolf. "Thank-you. I'm not quite sure on how to repay you." She said. Ginger shook the water off of her pelt then layed comfortably by Briggs side. She was rather tired so she drifted off into a shallow slumber.

[Briggs]

As briggs finally obtained enough oxygen to return his breathing to normal, Ginger dozed off. The brown furred male smiled, resting his own tired head on his paws, enjoying the feeling of the suns warm rays as they slowly dried his soaked fur. He couldn't put into words how relieved he was to see the sun again. Slowly his eyes closed, though he was not asleep. The pains of his previous actions began to set in, though he would never let them show, he was a wolf set on giving care, not receiving it. His fur was already wet, so he didn't notice the presence of a few gashes on his back from the rocks as they slowly oozed with crimson blood. It was by no means any life threatening injuries, there was no threat of too much blood loss, though the wounds looked a bit extreme, it was only because of his soaked and matted fur. One of the gashes did, however, still have a bit of rock stuck in it.

[Ginger]

Ginger forced herself awake, still groggy she pushed herself up into a sitting position. Checking the area to see if there was any other canines that might've ran to the valley for protection. With a sigh of relief she flopped back down onto her stomach but before she did she noticed how some of the fur on Briggs was stained with crimson coloured blood. Slightly grossed out she looked away but forced herself to look back. "Briggs? You do know you're bleeding right?" She asked to make sure he was aware of his wounds.

[Briggs]

Briggs opened one eye, his good one of course, when the sound of the pups voice piped up. In response to the question, he lifted his head and looked over his shoulder at his back where the pup was looking, and sure enough, his fur was becoming red in a few places around gashes that must have been from the rocks. "well how bout that" He muttered, shrugging his shoulders in a dismissal of concern. "your not bleeding are you?" he added, looking the pup over, probing her with his nose.
After declaring her fine in his mind, finding no wounds, he decided to ease the tension, turning his search into playful pokes from his nose at her sides.

[Ginger]

As Briggs prodded at her side Ginger became ticklish letting out little yips of laughter. Rolling onto her back she batted at Briggs muzzle in a playful manner. Her mouth hanged open as she laughed getting more ticklish as he continued prodding into her fur. "B-Briggs! T-that tick-les!" She barked as her talking was broke into pieces from all her laughing.

[Briggs]

Briggs curled his lips up in a wolfie grin, chuckling at the pups laughs. His tail thumped steadily against the ground, his nose continuing to probe at Gingers sides. It made him happy to see her laugh.

Jay and Toby suddenly slip and were rolling down the hill and Jay hit her head first ramming into the tree. The yowl was loud and dangerous. Toby was safe in her paws.

[Briggs]

A horrific howl of pain echoed through the valley, bringing Briggs to his feet as if he hadn't just been running so much. The brown male recognized the voice of Jay, which only parked his panic even more, she was a friend. "Stay here Ginger, if you even so much as smell another animal nearby, howl" He barked, not knowing rather Jay was being attacked, he didn't need two hurt canines. he himself wasn't counted in this number, though the gashes on his back were still fresh and raw.
After being sure Ginger stayed, he took off after the yowl. His gait was fast and full of power, muscles quivering with every step, shoulder blades further opening one of the gashes on his back, but he didn't stop.
When his golden gaze spotted Jay and Toby, the tip of his worry left, there was no attacker. As he got closer, he could tell that Jay had hit the tree she was laying near by. With his target in sight, his speed increased, until it took a lot of effort to stop before passing her.
He skidded to a halt beside her though, letting out a huff. "Jay...?" He spoke her name in a questioning tone, hoping she was alright. He gave her forehead a lick, tilting his head.

Jay twitched to the lick. She opened her eyes. She coughed up some blood. She whimpers "I think my paw is broken. Toby is fine but I can barely move" Jay closes her eyes again. Unknowingly if she is okay or not.

[Briggs]

Briggs let out a quiet whimper as he watched the wolf before him cough up a bit of blood. He didn't know what to do, he wasn't good with injury. The males ears were plastered to the back of his head. "what happened...?" He asked in a soft tone, sniffing the paw she believed was broken. It didn't look any different, but that by no means meant it was ok.

Jays ears twitch to a unpleasant sound. The rumbling among the clouds striked her memory. Jay limps getting up and nudges Briggs shoulder. "Take higher ground! I can smell the water coming!" Jay qiickly grabs Toby and heads up for higher. Only to struggle a lot, Jay doesnt give up.

[Ginger]

Ginger's yips and squels of laughter quickly died out as she felt Briggs stop prodding at her side. She didn't exactly hear the yowl because it was drowned out by her laughter. Ginger listened to Briggs as he told here to stay and to howl if she smelled another animal. She knew it would be right to stay but her curiousity was to high to sit still while something was happening that seemed interesting. Quickly Ginger rolled back onto her paws and waited for a bit until she knew Briggs was a good distance away, once she thought it would be slightly safe to trail along. Her frame was held low to the ground and her ears barely poked out from the tall grass. Lower blades of grass rubbed against her stomach in an annoying way. After stalking slowly for some time she broke into a sprint which wasn't really that fast since she wasn't built exactly for speed. Skidding to a stop a short distance away she quickly hid in a small thicket seeing the white female. Straining to hear what they were saying she could only make out some of what Briggs and the white female were saying "... Toby is fine... Barely..." Was all she heard from the white female while Ginger only heard the word 'Jay' from Briggs. Pasting together what she had all heard she guessed the female was Jay and Toby was the small pup that layed by the assuming canine Jay. Suddenly the white female who Ginger was guessing her name was Jay said something about getting to higher ground then quickly limped off in a painful looking way.

[Toby]

Toby gave a fearful yelp from when Jay stumbled, shutting his eyes & curling up tightly in her grip not wanting to be apart from her. When Jay came to a stop from stumbling, he fell to the side in a slight daze then to perk up sharply to hearing her pain strucking yowl from her paw.
Unsure on what to do, he glimped around before noticing Briggs who came on the scene. Worried for Jay he watched as Briggs questioned her if she was alright before once again being picked up by Jay as she deperately tried her way towards higher ground. Ears folded back against his head, Toby whined as he pawed at Jay's mouth, struggling from her grip until he broke free & dropped to the ground with a soft thud.
Not wanting to burden her pain with her paw any more by making her carry him, Toby ran beside her, every now & then running ahead before stopping to wait for her & continuing on.-

Running gradually, Jay pressed on forward. She keeps going and keeps a watchful eye on Toby. She whimpers loudly in pain.

[Ginger]

Ginger continued to watch Jay and Toby silently from the thicket. Hopefully guessing that Briggs would soon return to check on Ginger instead of running after Jay she quickly ran out of the thicket but as she was about to dash out into the open she clumsily tripped over one of her paws faceplanting into the ground. Her nose was the first thing to crash into the hard ground which made her whimper with great pain. Knowing that Briggs would probably hear the whimper she clamped her mouth shut attempting to prevent more whimpers and whines to leak out. Running off again she tried her best to remain quiet. Quickly she rolled onto her stomach in the place where Briggs told her to stay.

[Briggs]

Briggs, not knowing anything els he could do for Jay, watched her walk away, heaving a light sigh. The sounds of another whimper had his ears perked, taking his attention from Jay. His head turned towards the sound, but he saw no one. Raising a skeptical eyebrow, the large male lowered his head to the ground, sniffing it as he walked in the direction the whimper had come from. The sent of Ginger soon slipped into his nose, making him roll his eyes.
Acting as if he knew nothing of her following him, though he could smell the whole sent trail she had left behind, he strolled back to where he had left her, and of course, there she was.
"thanks for being such a good pup while I was gone" His deep tone was laced with sarcasm, his golden gaze watching her with the expression a mother would if she knew her child had done something bad. The brown wolf wasn't mad though, how could he really expect a pup to be able to control their curiosity all of the time, he was the same way when he was young.

[Ginger]

As soon as she heard Briggs voice full of sarcasm and how his gaze was something her mother often did when she knew Ginger was up to something Ginger just knew she was caught but still it wouldn't hurt to try and act like nothing happened. Quickly Ginger dug her muzzle deep into her forepaws attempting to stop the pain and make all her whimpers quieter. She tried her best to act like she didn't know what was going on. Ginger spoke in her best curious tone she could manage "Oh... uh, hi Briggs. I didn't see or sent any animal..." She paused for a brief second as a whimper was about to burst out as her nose was still hurting terribly. Continuing on her voice often cracked as always when she was lieng but still she hoped that Briggs didn't know that "What... uh, all happened, Briggs?" Ginger's voice only cracked several times but the next sentence she couldn't help but to blurt out quickly in a barely understandable mess. "It wasn't like I was there hiding in that thicket near by!" As soon as the words rolled out of her mouth she clamped her jaw shut firmly and dug it deep into her forepaws.

The storm brews by and the water stench dies down. Walking alone, Jay walks through the valley unaware of her surroundings. She raises her nose all high to catch a whiff of a scent, she smelled something. She retested the smell. It was another wolf! Jay snarls to the scent.

[Toby]

Toby ran alongside to be with Jay, looking around every now & then to get a glimp of their surrounding lands. The pup nearly tripped over his own feet but managed to regain his balance. The sudden growl that errupted from Jay froze him in place, looking up at her for a moment before scrambling to hide behind her from whatever threat she caught wind of.-

[Briggs]

Briggs smiled, laughing at Gingers attempts to play innocent. "mmhm, yeah" he mumbled in mocking agreement. The brown male then let out a sigh, looking towards the forest before looking back at the pup. "and I'm guessing you hurt your nose while sitting here?" He asked with an obvious air of humor in his warm tone.

[Ginger]

Seeing the way Briggs replied to Ginger's attempt to play innocent she decided to give it up. "I tripped when I was running out of that bush when I was listening to the the conversation you were having with the white she-wolf." She said and lifted her muzzle out of her paws. It still hurted terribly but some of the pain had dived down from when she first got it. Hearing Briggs warm tone she let out a little giggle then sprang up onto her paws to playfully pounce at Briggs attempting to knock the large male over.

[Briggs]

The largely framed male watched Ginger with amused eyes as she admitted to everything. He caught the playful tinge in her eyes before she jumped, so he was prepared, and when she did leap at him in her little worthless attempts to knock him down, he played along, letting his body fall to the wet grass below, a grunt slipping through his muzzle as he landed on his cut up back. His face was covered in a playful shock/fear, ears back. "your stronger than I thought, I give in, oh please don't hurt me" Briggs yelped, looking up at the little pup that had 'knocked him down'

Seeing how Briggs flopped over when she had attacked him made her feel strong. Ginger then began to wrestly him in a way wrapping her small paws around his forehead area and then bit at the ear she was closest to trying her best to not lose balance.
