Briggs smiled, letting his brown tail thump against the ground. he reached for her with his big paws, batting at her very lightly, not wanting to make her fall. Then, with a devilish grin, he poked at her side easily, hoping to tickle her and cause her to loose her balance, his golden eyes glowing in amusement.

Ginger slightly lost grip as she felt one of Briggs large paws bat at her, but just to make it worse Briggs began to poke at her side which was a very ticklish spot for her. She squirmed and wiggled trying to avoid his pokes but she often ended up going straight into them. Finally she couldn't manage to keep her balance atop of Briggs and she flopped over off of his large flame giving out little yips of laughter.

Briggs turned his head, as Ginger fell off of him and out of his view, so that he could again see her. Her yips of laughter made he himself chuckle, and for a moment he wondered if the fun she must have been having was what he had missed out on since his father had been killed. The male didn't let this thought bring down his mood, he just shook it from his mind. with a smile, he reached out again to poke her, his movements causing the grass he was laying on to poke at his sides, tickling him the slightest bit.

Ginger was quick when getting back onto her paws but Briggs began to poke at her again which sent her tumbling with more of her yips of laughter but this time they were louder. Managing to rise up onto her paws Ginger began play bowing and wagging her bushy tail as she sprang from one spot to another darting towards Briggs then back trying to get him to chase her.

Briggs watched Ginger bounce back and forth, beckoning him to try and capture her. Unlike some male wolves whom got annoyed with pupa and never let their soft sides show, This brown furred male already felt like a protector to this little girl, and wanted to do nothing but amuse her. He lifted his large body from the ground and onto his paws, shaking the grass bits from his thick fur. His golden eye locked to little Ginger, watching her bounce around. He let loose a yip of attack, giving her warning that he accepted her challenge and was going to come for her. With a wagging tail he picked up a trot, giving her time to dart away. He knew it wouldn't be to hard to catch her, for his strides were at least four times larger than hers, probably five or six. His long legs would overcome her short and stubby pup legs any day, however, he wanted to give her the illusion that she was faster, at least for a bit.

As the young wolf entered the valley once more, she could spotted two canines chasing each other around in the long grass. A golden eye seemed to look up for a moment; unmistakably it was Briggs. Spirit and the rest of the pack walked closer to the two dogs. She gave Briggs a friendly nudge, greeting him. Once he looked up at her, the female gave a cheeky smile which she pulled off perfectly. “Hey, you.”
She looked around the valley, and could see the carcass in the distance. She wasn’t sure if the others could, but waited to see if anyone noticed it.

Seeing Briggs rise up she suddenly sprang away and dashed off at a fairly good speed for a pup. She loped towards the lake that stood in the middle of the valley.

Post  Tarou Fri Dec 02, 2011 11:20 pm

Tarou quickly trotted, leaving the mysterious ruins behind. Perhaps he would have time to explore them even further and discover some secrets and crack the code in order to get into the pyramid. Looking up, he could see Spirit farther ahead of him. He continued to follow her. He finally entered the valley and paused a moment in amazement. Two large hills sloped down to form a paradise of lush foliage and even a small lake with a waterfall in the distance. Birds sang freely, and dark trees loomed ominously up ahead, beckoning the adventurous side of him. Well, he would have time for that jungle exploring later.

He regained composure and looked around, noticing three wolves nearby. One was Spirit, one was a pup Ginger, and the other was the wolf whos name he couldn't remember... if the other male wolf had even told him. Tarou shrugged and continued on. Two, the pup and the male, were running away from him and looked as if they were having a race. Despite himself, the leader smiled as he saw the playful and carefree nature of the two. Near Spirit he saw a carcass, which seemed the one she had been talking about. His stomach growled loudly as he got closer. The meat was very wet from the storm it had sat through, and didn't look too appetizing. Tarou's hunger faded quickly as he looked at the meal, and then he looked up once more. The other male wolf stirred memories deep inside him, but he couldn't put his paw on exactly what one...

Briggs let his pace quicken into a loping canter at he watched Ginger dart away towards a lake of sparkling water up ahead. His breaths fell in time with his paws as they hit the damp ground and pushed him forward. Soon he was right behind the little pup, looming over her, his shadow cloaking her completely and stretching out a few feet in front of her as the suns bright rays poured down onto his back. He lowered his big head, opening his massive jaws, getting ready to pass her, however, a breeze brought the sent of Spirit to him, as well as the male wolf he had met before, but didn't know the name of. 'did they need something?'

"Ginger, hang on" The male called as he slowed to a halt, turning to face the two canines behind him who seemed to have their attention on an old soggy carcass. A one eyed golden gaze focused on the male that he had no name for. Something about the wolf seemed familiar to the brown male, as if they had met before. Trying to place the feeling, Briggs tilted his head in thought as he stood there in the open valley. When he failed to remember, he shook the thought from his mind and gave a shrug of his broad shoulders, maybe it was nothing.

Ginger was quick to skid to a halt but in the process she nearly tumbled head first into the water. Turning around to follow Briggs toward the other canines the seemed to only be a bunch of wolves. She didn't like being surrounded by strangers and she only knew one besides Briggs which was Tarou. "Hi Tarou!" She barked then dashed towards him to pause a short distance away.

Tarou focused his light brown gaze on the other male. The stirring feeling inside of him grew stronger, but still he could not figure out where he had met this wolf. The little pup Ginger came and approached him. "Hey, Ginger! How are you doing!" he said.

Briggs slowly walked towards the others, closing the space between them, pulling his gaze off of the other male so as not to seem rude. He stopped beside of Spirit with a friendly flick of his tail, turning his head so that his gaze could capture her. "hey spirit" He greeted.

The female yawned as the large male approached. She moved back so that Tarou and the pup could have some space, before sitting down again. "Hi", she said, not taking her eyes off the two wolves.

Ginger noticed on how Tarou seemed to be focusing on Briggs so she decided to see if they knew eachother "That's Briggs if you didn't already meet him." she said then gave a happy little bark "I've been good, you?" She was happy to see him again since she was with Briggs through most of the storm and pretty much shortly after she washed ashore on this strange island. Becoming curious she asked a simply question "Where did you go during the storm Tarou? I've been with Briggs and he also saved my life! He's really nice."

Briggs turned his attention to Ginger, smiling as she talked about him. He walked a bit away from Spirit before lowering himself first to a bowing position to stretch himself, cringing as the wounds on his back pulled, then to a lay on the damp ground, his golden gaze settling on Ginger and Tarou, or at least that was what Ginger was calling him, so it must be his name.

Feeling ignored, the female walked to a nearby lake where she lay on her back, looking up at the sky. “Does nobody like me?”, she muttered to herself. Spirit rolled over and placed her head on the ground. A butterfly landed on her nose, she laughed.

Toby watched Jay as she rested, not doing much as he pawed a small pebble beside him. Giving a small huff he jumped up to look around, hearin his tummy grumble wth hunger he padded off. 'Where do they have the food bowls...' The young pup wondered, still not very use to living in the wild with other wolves rathe than his human. He scampered along noticing the group of wolves, the other pup and Briggs playing and wagged his tail wanting to join but hunger overpowered him and he continued on his mission to find the food bowls.-

(short post is short, dunno what to say. lol)

"I went to some ruins I found, not far from this valley. Spirit was there with us too." the male replied, flicking his tail over to the lone wolf not far away. "I'm glad." Tarou smiled, turning to once more lock his gaze with Brigg's. "Thanks." he said. "Even though I'm sure she's thanked you already."

The blue and yellow butterfly flew off her nose and landed on a flower nearby.
Spirit hesitated in getting up but eventually did so, slowly. Her stomach was rumbling, so the female decided it was best to eat the carcass, even though its looks were very off-putting. She wasn’t very hungry, it was more the rest of the pack which she was worried about. But she had to eat. One bite at a time, she ate, and once done, sat next to the carcass.
Spirit pondered upon the question that if this was her future pack which she would spend the rest of her life in. At the moment, she only knew the names of three wolves; Briggs, Kiyoura and Tarou, but she wanted to know more about them all and what they can remember of their past.
She looked down at her muddy paws, thinking deeply. The brown wolf felt a bit ashamed of the way she greeted Briggs before, it was in such a rude manner, she didn’t even look at him.

Ginger had never noticed how hungry she was because she was to busy to think about hunger. A low grumble erupted out of Ginger's stomach. The pup quickly glanced around to see if she could possibly snatch a quick meal off of someone but didn't really see anyone with food. Not knowing much of the other canines she trotted towards Briggs and once Ginger had caught up him she whined in the annoying pup way "Briggs! I'm starving!" once she said the words her stomach rumbled louder.

Post  Saharr Sun Dec 04, 2011 1:06 am

The hound loped into the valley for the first time, taking in all the beauty of its luscious hills. He didn't mind the saturated ground beneath his paws as he navigated his way into parts of the valley, he simply found it refreshing. Taking in a deep breath of the misty air, he made one last bound down into the valley and stopped by a burrow-like structure. Could this be the home of some potential prey? Perhaps. He'd assumed the carcass mentioned by Spirit wouldn't be too fit for eating at this moment in time, especially after the storm, and so, he took this as an opportunity for an easy hunt.

Saharr bended over and hung his head low, just enough to see inside of this newly discovered burrow. The smell was vaguely familiar. Perhaps that of a rabbit? He pondered it slightly as he squinted and focused his vision in the hopes of seeing what this mammal could be. With a sigh, he began scraping at this burrow lightly, hoping to be able to dig this possible rabbit out, or to simply trap it inside.

Ears pressed against his head, Toby gazed about confused. 'Where were the food bowls!' He thought to himself. Gentle paws padded along before stopping. The sight of a hound, much large & distinguishly different from the wolves he had mingled with earlier caught his attention.
Tiptoeing a bit closer, the pup hid behind a hallowed out, rotting log. Eyes trained onto the hound, he wondered if he had hid a bone like how he had done in the past at his home. That didn't get much of his attention rather tan the strange trinquit that hung around the hound's neck. Inching forward, he forgot that he wasn't in his hidding spot anymore & was now out in the open, but he didn't notice as he focused on trying to see what the small trinquit was.-

Post  Saharr Sun Dec 04, 2011 7:54 am

He'd just begun digging into the burrow when, even through the cloud of dirt and dust forming around him, he picked up the scent of another canine. He ignored it as he continued on his quest for this rabbit, pulling away as much dirt as he could at once with each swipe at the ground. As he dug further, a hurried scraping noise became obvious to him, one that was different to his own. He pulled his paws away and pushed his head into part of the burrow, sniffing and searching for the prey. Barely making out its silhouette in the darkness of the hole, he finally identified it for what it was, a rabbit, proving that he was right all along.

Seeing that it was cornered, he went in for the kill. With a swift movement of his long neck, he managed to nip the scruff of its neck and drag it out a little from its confined corner. With another quick movement, Saharr let go of the rabbit's skin and bit at it again, this time conveniently being able to wrap his jaws around its fragile neck. With a loud crunch, he stepped back from the burrow and pulled out his fresh kill, holding it still by its limp neck in his maw. A slight smile of accomplishment appeared on his face as he placed the carcass on the ground before him, taking in the fact that he'd made another one of his rare, successful kills.

The hound finally decided to turn and face the new scent in the area, only to see that it appeared to be a small pup. Regardless of the fact that he didn't like small, young things too much, he attempted a welcoming smile through bloodied jaws, trying to appear friendly to this pup that had stumbled across him as he was finding his own prey. Conversation may be helpful, he thought to himself quickly, before going forth with that idea,

"What are you doing here all by yourself, away from the others?"

Post  Briggs Sun Dec 04, 2011 11:20 am

Briggs met the gaze of Tarou, nodding with a smile. "Always here to protect" He barked in reply, his smile broadening. In his head he was still trying to place the odd familiar feeling that was brought up by Tarou. Then a memory sparked to life like a movie that only he could see. His mother was running, taking one last glance at him with teary eyes, and the pup dangling in her jaws, The brown wolfs brother....no, there was no way. Briggs shook his head, laughing to himself at the thought. Just as he lowered his head back down onto the grass, little Ginger bounced up in her all to energetic manner.

As she brought up the subject of food, The males own stomach let out a long rumble. Had any of the canines eaten since they got here? "Well, lets go see if we can find something" He replied, lifting his large frame off of the ground, shaking his brown fur free of grass. His golden gaze peered down at the pup beside him, she couldn't hunt, she was much to young, unless they found something like a rabbit, but he wash't to sure what kind of prey could be found on this island.

The males gaze lifted from the pup, scanning their surroundings, landing on Spirit whom was preoccupied with a butterfly, maybe she would know something. "come on Ginger" He barked in a friendly tone, padding briskly over to the she-wolf whom he had greeted before, he hoped she would be in a better mood. He halted behind her, lowering his brown self a bit so that he could capture her tail gently in his large jaws, giving it a tug before letting go with a smile. "hey Spirit, you up for finding something to eat other than that soggy carcass?" He asked in his warm friendly tone, flicking his tail back and forth.
